Words are a fountain of Grace, Hope, Peace, Faith, and Love

James 1:26 (KJV)
If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.

There are things in life that defines who we are. There are behaviors that betrays our best intentions. There are actions that conveys contradictory messages about our true nature.

So, it is imperative that we are careful as to how we present ourselves. Words are defining of our innermost thoughts or rather they convey who we truly are in the inside. For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

Learning how to speak is not just an infantry stuff but it is something we all must continue to develop throughout our lifetime. When we truly understand the power of words or the tongue, we will appreciate the call of the Bible for us to be people of few words. Who have their tongue under the control of the Holy Spirit.

Think about it, how many families or friendship and relationships has been destroyed by one ‘word’. How many marriages and businesses has come to ruins because of words. Friendships and partnerships often has flourished or died because of words. So if we claim to be religious and we are still unable to control our tongue, then our religion is questionable. Why? Because when we come to Christ, things ought to change.

We ought to be a people of difference. We must appreciate what we can become when we think before we speak. When we allow the Holy Spirit to guide our mouth and control our utterance.

Let your words be seasoned with Grace that those who hear you may be built up. Let your words be or bring healing to those around you. Let your words be a fountain of love and mercy to people.
Remember, that words are creative and you will dwell in the atmosphere that you have created by your words. Bear the fruit of grace and hope by your words.

Be one whose tongue is bridled by the Holy Spirit. It is not a sign of maturity when you must have the last word in a conversation. It is not Christian-like when you don’t keep your words. It is not okay, when people can’t stand you because of how you speak. It is not cool to always say things to hurt others. Be fruitful this year and let your fruit remain.

Shalom,

Apostle Morgan.
