The tendency to change one’s identity, personality disposition due to the way people may have treated you is a human possibility.
However, God has designed us to be capable of constancy irrespective of how and what may happen to us in the Journey of life. Jesus Christ demonstrated this level of constancy at the Cross when irrespective of the treatment of people could still at in love and mercy toward the thief on the cross.
Anyone who you allow to impact your life to the extent where the person has the power to change you and how you behave has been given undue influence and authority over your life.
I am not stating that we are not impacted by the actions and behaviors of people, we are human enough to have such impact but allowing what people did or didn’t do to influence and change you is counter productive in your life.
It is imperative that you agree with yourself that people will be who they are and yourself must be who God has ordained you to be.
Circumstances surrounding you are mostly situational and it will pass away, so if you keep changing per Circumstances, then who are you?
To avoid being circumstantial influence, the need to develop resolute and defining characteristics is imperative.
Remember, God is with you and for you. Remember that through these changing dynamics, you learn a lot about people and it is good to grow in wisdom from the experiences you have in life.
Resolve to be the change you pray for.
