1 Cor. 13 vs. 1 – 7.
The character and nature of love ❤️ is so divine that everything done by and through love represents God at His best not that He has anything less than best.
“Love ❤️ is not prideful”. It is imperative to establish that True love doesn’t take pride in its actions as though it was accomplished without divine grace and enablement.
Pride is a man’s way of feeling superior and above those with whom you deal with. It supposes that you are better than. And therefore, informs a Disposition of arrogance that hinders the individual from seeing his or her own humanity.
True love recognizes that # What I do for you in love, is an act done through Grace and a privilege 🙏#.
It therefore, doesn’t seek its own glory or praise 🙌. When true love is at work, Christ and His Glory is the focus ✨️.
True love functions in the Spirit of Humility and Gentleness, so it doesn’t have room for boosting.
What are the Dangers of prideful Disposition in love dynamics?
- It creates a sense of superiority that impacts the way and manner in which love actions are done.
- It hinders the Joy that is mutually shared in true love dynamics.
- It opens the doors for wrong and ungodly expectations from the prideful lover.
- It weakens the foundation of true love because Christ is not the center nor His Glory the motivation.
- It opens the doors for Selfishness and all forms of ungodly attitude in love dynamics.
To overcome becoming prideful in love relationship, you must:
- Recognize that it is a privilege and honor for anyone to open himself or herself to you in love. When people makes themselves vulnerable to you, you can’t take it for granted.
- Recognize that you are not special and that you are not better than anyone else.
Think of yourself within the limits of Grace given to you. - Avoid the feelings of importance – Meaning that you should not think that without you, people are nothing.
Remove far from you the # God mentality #. You are not indispensable. Resolve to be an amazing Helper 👏 to someone else this year. Shalom 👏. Apostle Morgan Ikonne
