But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Ignorance gives room for excuses. When people tend not to know, then expectations are minimal because when we don’t know it is presumed that we will not do the right thing. However, when we have come to the knowledge and we continue to act ignorantly, then we are without excuse.
God has always been proactive in informing us of what He expects and how we must do things. God has never left us without a witness as to what His requirements are. Therefore, we are without excuse before God.
One basic thing about God is that He is a Truthful Communicator. Meaning that God is clear, precise, and unambiguous in His communications. We know that when we are unaware of how things work, then we can do it in our ways and feel justified but if and when we know, responsibility is now upon us to do what is right.
Even so, we have been informed as to how we must approach God. It is by Faith. That is having confidence in Him. And not just in Him but in what He has promised and who He is – His nature and character.
It is now required of us to:
- Understand the very nature of God as revealed in the Bible.
- Grow in our relationships with God through His Word and by the person of the Holy Spirit.
- Understand and accept divine principles that govern the exercise of faith and that determines our approach to God. Even as we know that approach determines the response.
If we intend to please God, it must be by Faith. Meaning that it is not by our works but by confidence assurance that we have in the finished works of Jesus Christ on the cross. We please God by the acts of pleasurable obedience and works of Faith. We please God by walking in love and by sharing the Gospel, the Good News.
Remember that coming to God is a choice and if and when you have made that choice, then it is no longer up to you to determine and detect the rules of engagement. God determines that, and He has clearly stated that you approach Him by faith and in knowledge. Know who God is for yourself.
Approach God from the vintage of Biblical revelation, not self imagination or your cultural perspective. God transcends culture and should not be approached from such dimensions. God is a rewarder. He blesses those who truly worship and seek Him. Remember that you are commanded to be fruitful and fruitful you are as you continue to grow in the knowledge of God.
