Commit your plans (works) to the Lord

Proverbs 16:3 (KJV)

Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.

As you begin the new calendar year, it is imperative that you critically consider how you acted and went about things in the previous year. An introspective approach to life helps to avoid pitfalls. We live in a world that demands our attention and on daily basis, we are confronted with too many things to do and to respond to, so much so that we often forget the important things of life. Such as a prayerful committal of our activities to God. By committing our activities to God, we are demonstrating our dependence on Him and our acknowledgment that He knows best for us.

You may ask what are the benefits? How can the committal of my activities lead to the prosperity of my plans? That is a good question and the following are some answers to it:

  1. By committing your activities to God, you get God involved and when He is involved, things work out for your good. Especially, when you listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit within your heart. You see committing your activities is not just praying but it is also willful obedience to act responsively to the instructions given to you by the Lord.
  2. It brings the resources of Heaven to bear upon you and enables the flow of God’s Grace towards your activities. Thereby making your plans to come to pass.
  3. It provides you with the strength necessary for the execution of your plans. Many are the plans in the heart of an individual, but it is the counsel of God that will stand. God is the source of strength for those that wait upon Him, for the Lord shall renew their strength. You need strength to fulfill any plan.
  4. It opens the doors of favor to you in so many ways that you are by such favors positioned to realize your plans.

So you and I stand to benefit from starting it the right way and continuing in the right direction. Allow God to be first and you will never be last. It is our year of fruitfulness and we are commanded to be fruitful. Fruitful you are and must be. For you are blessed beyond the curse and you are favored by the best.

Shalom.
