Let God’s Truth guide our hearts

Proverbs 21:2 (KJV)

Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the Lord pondereth the hearts.

We are creatures of thoughts and words. We are pruned to think often in general before acting and we do so sometimes with even considering the consequences. It is imperative to earnestly consider our thoughts and actions in the light of the Truth that God foremost looks at our hearts.

Now the good thing about this is that God, unlike men, looks to the motives and His response to you is from the motive He sees in you. And I think it is an encouraging thing because we live in a world where people are quick to judge you per what they see and not what they know.

So, to know that God sees and considers my motives and thoughts should as well keep me from harboring evil thoughts and motives. When we understand that why we often miss it with God is that we always want to please people as against God, things will be different in our lives.

So foremost, keep as much as possible with the help of the Holy Spirit a pure and clear conscience toward all people. It will help you to overcome thinking ill thoughts about other people.

Secondly, let us be watchful over what we allow access to our spirit. Our ways, thoughts, and actions are and can be influenced by information.

Thirdly, it will be of great benefit when we develop and adopt the principle of ‘God first’. Meaning, check in with God before you decide on how to proceed.

You see, when an individual has concluded that he or she has a perfect plan, it is impossible to seek the advice of another. So, my friend, I will think that we stand the better chance of doing right and getting it right when we become people who are God-centric in all our approach to life issues.

Many factors (a few below) influence us as to why we think that we are right in what we do:

1. Inability to see the benefits of synthetic relationships. When we fail to see and understand that we are better off by allowing others to be part of our lives and journey, we stand to think we got it all figured out.

2. Unwilling to be open to others because of past hurts and wounds. Now, this is a bit sensitive and I fully understand it. But let’s be real, healing can only occur fully in a natural environment.

Meaning that they weren’t spirits that hurt you, it was people and God can and will use people as agents of healing for you. So, when you shut in and close up, as a means of self-protection especially after many years of the incident, you are keeping yourself in bondage. Let it be clear that decisions made in an environment of bondage are never the best.

3. Pride and self-centeredness are other major factors why people think they are right in their ways. Learn to be humble. Learn to be open. Learn to accept help. Learn to say I don’t fully understand this or know what to do. It is the right place to begin. You will experience joy and peace. You will experience great improvement in your life when others especially God becomes part of your journey.

Remember that you can’t be fruitful without God and others.

Shalom,

Apostle Morgan.
