We are The Light of God in this world

Matthew 5:14-16 (KJV)

14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

One of the characteristics of healthy fruit is attraction. It is a natural thing for people to be attracted to something beautiful and inspiring. As people who are called to draw others to God, we must understand the value of our lives and assign such importance to our daily walk. Jesus speaking to His disciples brought to their attention their true identity, purpose, and assignment on earth. They are called The Light of the world, they are called to shine, they are called to attract others to God by their actions, they are called to bring hope, healing, and direction to those who are lost.

So to be a person of influence, you must know both your identity, value, and purpose. If we are to bear fruits that are lasting then we must accept who we are, for we can only produce after our kind.

Note that Jesus said to them, a city that is set on high can not be hidden. Once we have taken our position of responsibility, we then are equipped to fulfill our purpose. Darkness will continue to prevail as long as there is no one to shine the light.

So let’s stop complaining about the darkness in our families, communities, and nations and start shining the light in every sphere of life.

  • Let’s get engaged in the political world for those called unto it, and bring the Light of God into that darkness.
  • Let us get engaged in the economic world and bring the Light of God into it.
  • Let get engaged in the scientific world, the medical, the engineering, the entertainment industry and every sphere of human interaction to shine the Light.

Remember that the only reason darkness will continue to prevail is that few good men have refused to shine the Light. So our character and behavior, as well as engagement with life, must reflect our identity and purpose. Be the Light that you are called to be. Arise and accept your calling and outlive it in all you do. No one can repeal darkness as you can, so stop looking for superheroes, you are one. Each one of us who have believed in Christ can be the change and to bring change into our environment.

Be fruitful and accept the calling to fruitfulness. The power of the curse has been broken, no more excuses.

Shalom,

Apostle Morgan.
