Matthew 19:26 (KJV)
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
Getting things done is one of the essential characteristics of an achiever. We love people who get things done. Those who are goal-getters, we hire them as employees and want to have them as friends or serve on our board. As much as this quality is an admirable one, we must recognize that in life there are things that are impossible for us to do or accomplish as humans. And as such we must look to the one with whom all things are possible.
Jesus made this statement in the context of the question being asked of Him by His disciples, it was obvious that what was been asked looked an impossible task with man. And this is the beginning of our complete dependence on God. We must accept and recognize those things that are outside of our abilities irrespective of how savvy we are and how skilled or talented we are. Life in itself presents a clear picture that we are not the MASTERS of the universe. Yes, we have learned and mastered a lot of things in life but we do not control the outcome of life in full completeness. Therefore, we look to Him with whom and in whom there are no impossibilities.
So why are things impossible with men?
1. We have limitations and our nature is fragile.
2. We do not possess omnipotent powers nor are we omniscient or omnipresent nature. Our comprehension of things is limited. So our ability to solve or proffer solutions are also limited.
3. We lack absolute power and authority.
4. We have limitations with resources. No matter how resourceful we are, there are so many things we just have to accept we cannot afford to do.
So in the light of these recognizable challenges, we must then turn to God who has infinite power and authority, knowledge and resources at His disposal. We do so not as slaves who are at the mercy of a master, not by any stretch of the imagination. We do so as children who have a love relationship with their Father and who understand the nature of their Father. Just as it is in the natural order, a child reaches out to his daddy not because he or she is a slave to him but because of the loving relationship that exists between them.
In pleasure, we respond to our children even so in pleasure God our Father responds to us. He does for us what we can not do for ourselves. Not only does He do that, He as well has empowered us to do things by His authority. Wahoo, we are trusted to use His name and authority in solving life’s problems. We are empowered to bring change into situations and all these we do in partnership with our Father.
This is the uniqueness of having a living relationship with God your Father. It can’t get any better. Don’t you think so!!! Therefore, we can be fruitful because all we need has been provided to us. And we can truly enjoy life and see impossible situations turn around for good.
Be encouraged, arise and be fruitful. The power of the curse has been broken.
Shalom,
Apostle Morgan.
