Ephesians 6:11 (KJV)
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
It is an undeniable truth that we have an adversary whose intention is to hinder, accuse, tempt, and work against all that is of God in our lives. We are engaged in spiritual warfare between good and evil and between light and darkness. We must not confuse ourselves by denying or thinking that there is no entity called Satan also known as the devil. Satan’s personality is real and his works are real. However, we must understand and accept that God has given us victory over all of the works of darkness.
We stand on the victory of Christ on the cross. We are empowered by the authority of Christ to enforce the victory over all that Satan does or can do. We are called upon to put on, which implies that we must make a choice. Make a Choice of wearing the armor of God. So this means that if we don’t wear the armor of God we are vulnerable. We will stand to be defeated.
We have received the armor of God through our relationship with Christ. And they are effective in dealing with all that Satan may throw at us. Without God’s armor, we don’t stand a chance. Therefore, it is a necessity that you stay clothed in God’s armor.
You see, the Bible speaks of the wiles of the devil. This means the strategies of the devil. So this personality operates through and with organized strategies.
What are some of these strategies?
1. Lies and deception.
The devil is the father of all lies. When he speaks Jesus said he is speaking his language of lies. So don’t believe the lie of the devil on anything about your life and family. Overcome it with Truth, the word of God is Truth.
2. Negative imagination and evil thoughts.
Remember that what you imagine and think continually will dominate your life and will define your approach to life issues. So if you buy into the devil’s negativity, then it will control your life and the outcome of your life. Cast the devil’s negative imagination and thoughts by declaring the Truth of God over your mind and soul.
3. False witness or accusation.
Remember that the devil is your accuser, it is his job to bring up your past and accuse you with it. The intention is to make you fall into guilt and shame thereby causing you to doubt yourself and your standing with God. Don’t listen to the accusations of the devil because you are the Righteousness of God in Christ. Your sins are forgotten and forgiven by your Father.
4. Condemnation is another strategy of the devil.
It comes by way of self-pitying and self-loathing because of things you did or you thought you are inadequate in handling. So you condemn yourself and feel inferior. No, you should not because God has qualified you in Christ. Know how your enemy operates and you will not fall victim to all that the enemy brings.
You are called to be fruitful and fruitful you are. The power of the curse has been broken.
Shalom,
Apostle Morgan.
