You can Trust the Goodness of God

Nahum 1:7 (KJV)

The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

One of the things people seek in relationships is consistency and commitment. We all seek to relate with people or persons of goodwill as well as persons whose nature we can depend on. The Bible speaks of God as that One whom we can rely on for His nature is that of goodness.

The goodness of God is one of His communicable attributes meaning is one of those nature we also share with God as fundamentalist characteristic of our being. However, with God, it goes beyond acts of the goodness of which many of us does exhibit to the essential elements of goodness such as:

1. Having a pure motive in doing good to others.

2. Being fundamentally good as a way of acting towards others all the time.

3. Doing good to those who are undeserving of such good deeds

4. Forgiving people without conditions and expectations.

So, the goodness of God leads to repentance or change of heart because God in His goodness shows us His love and kindness. He is tender and caring for us in ways that we are undeserving of such love and care. His goodness is central to His blessings. So, we stand forever blessed, and nothing can change that because of the goodness of God.

He is a stronghold in the day of trouble. God not only shows and acts in goodness, but He is also a safety and defense to those who trust in Him. Strongholds are places of highest safety and security when a nation in those days are at war. It was the most secure place to be for the King and the rulers of the land, especially when such a nation was under an attack.

So, picture yourself and your life and see you being hidden in God Himself. So why fear what is coming or what people try to do to you? For God is your highest security and safety. He is not providing it; He is your stronghold and safety. He knows those who trust in Him. The key is to trust in the Lord. You are blessed and highly favored.

Shalom,
Apostle Morgan.
