The Righteousness of the Gospel

John 3:17 (KJV)

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

The purpose for which Christ came into the world is obvious, and it is to that purpose we are called His followers. Therefore, we preach the Gospel in such a way that its content remains true while its presentation is not in betrayal of Christ’s purpose. We are not called to bring condemnation to people, for there is a difference between corrections in righteousness and condemnation. But to preach the Gospel in love and truth.

The world knows that they are lost already. We are to show them the way to deliverance and salvation. People around us who are not saved already carry the shame and burden of sin; we cannot add to that by the way we present Christ. Neither do we compromise the Gospel in the name of being “cool.” The Gospel is an offense unto them that are perishing, but to those who are being saved, it is the power of God unto salvation.

What we have is the answer to the challenge of the human soul. Who will deliver me from this body of sin and death (Rom. 7 vs. 24), and the answer is in verse 25. Thanks be to God who, through Christ, not a religion nor church membership but through Christ causes us to triumph in Christ.

So people, the most important gift you will offer is the gift of salvation and as you know, no matter how beautiful a gift is, the packing, and manner of presentation impacts on how it is received. You are called to follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ. Let us do so and be faithful witnesses of the power of God unto salvation. You are blessed and highly favored.

Shalom,

Apostle Morgan.
