The Influence of Attitude on Behavior

Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
One reason our  attitudes are so important is that they affect our actions—that is, our behavior and words.
If I have we are pessimistic, defeatist, negative attitude, it will be expressed in negative words and behavior.
The reality is that we may not be able to control my environment. Perhaps we have experienced such difficulties as sickness, an alcoholic spouse, a teenager on drugs, a mother who abandoned us, a father who abused us, a spouse who is irresponsible, aging parents, and so on. Any one of those situations can be overwhelming.
But it’s crucial to realize that we are  responsible for what we do within our environment.
And our attitude will greatly influence our  behavior.
First Thessalonians 5 gives us some key steps to developing a positive attitude:
1.  Be joyful.
2. keep praying.
3. Be thankful in all circumstances.
As we talked about being thankful, such Attitude can and  renew our perspective, reminding us of what God has already done for us and encouraging us that He  will help in the future.
How to Know Your Attitude:
1. If you want to know your attitude, look at your words and behavior.
2. If your words are critical and negative, then you have a negative attitude.
3. If your behavior is designed to hurt or get back at your spouse,  Children,  family and friends, then you have a negative attitude.
Paul gives straightforward counsel in Philippians 2:14: “Do everything without complaining and arguing.”
Following this advice and guarding your attitude are the most powerful things you can do to affect your behavior.
And your behavior greatly influences your 💑marriage,  relationships,  friendship and professional life. In fact it affects everything around you. So it is imperative you follow the word of God on this.
We are not wiser than God nor are we all knowing,  so let us give our attention to this Command and live by it for our well-being.
Prayer 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Heavenly Father, when I have a bad attitude, it comes out in the way I talk to my spouse, children and friends.  Please forgive me for my sharp words and negativity.
I want to set a goal to avoid complaining or arguing. Instead, please help me to rejoice, pray, and be thankful. I know the resulting positive attitude will bless my spouse, children and friends  as well as strengthen our marriage 💑❤and all other important relationships ❤in my life.
Shalom.
