The Blessing is in God, and God alone

Psalm 121:1 (KJV)

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

Expectation influences hope and the source of your expectation fuels your faith. The psalmist was a man of uncommon character and understanding. He knew by the Holy Spirit the importance of developing an expectation that is anchored on God and God alone.  Though,  God uses people but when our hope and faith are placed on mere men, we have often been disappointed.
In Palestine those days, the greatness of the gods they worshipped were likened to the hill upon which such a god was situated and where people went to worship such a god. So by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit the Psalmist calls the minds of his audience to the fact that no hill can be your source of help or victory.  It can only come from God.
Many at times we look to people, places, and names and imagine what life would look like if we only had such and such in our circle of friends or family.  But one thing we often overlook is the very presence of God within us and among us. We tend to think that we would have been better off if only. No my friend,  God got you good where you are and no hill of human origin or Personality can do for you what He has done and can do. So quit complaining about where you were born or those around you and look up and see the hands of your maker reaching out to you with all the helps you need. He has positioned you good and He got you where He wanted because your blessing is not tied to any human being or origins but to God and God alone.
Learn to Obey Him. Make it your habit to Trust in Him. Allow yourself the opportunity to believe in Him. And be okay with what He got for you. You are blessed and highly favored.
Shalom,
Apostle Morgan.
