Philippians 4:7 (KJV)
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
The context of the above scripture underscores the importance of Prayers of Thanksgiving as well as the need for us to be anxious of NOTHING. It becomes imperative that we see the connection between prayer, thankfulness and peace.
Peace which is not the absence of trouble but the contentment of the soul and spirit in the mist of challenges with the knowledge of God’s ability to do what He has promised; that can only be possible when we see things the way God sees them.
So the peace God gives is not like that of the world. It is not based on material things. It is the product of the divine presence in the soul of an individual.
– When we take God at His word concerning anything we will have peace.
– When we believe the promises of God in the face of challenges we will have peace.
– When we trust and obey when everything around us says otherwise, we will have peace.
– When we give our ears and heart to the voice of the Holy Spirit, we will have peace.
Peace is and should be the final arbiter of our decision and choice. If you don’t have peace, don’t do it. If you know God is not giving you peace about it, wait on God until you have peace about it. Learn to allow peace rule your heart and soul.
Shalom,
Apostle Morgan!
