1 John 3:16-18Hereby perceive we the love of God , because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. [17] But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? [18] My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
Greetings.
It is a beautiful day. Remember that the First Use of Words are Creative, Assigning of Purpose, and Identity. So use your words rightly today. Bless someone and not curse. Cursing is not just profanity but the use of faithless and unbelieving words.
In this text God redirects our thoughts to LOVE especially for others. And He reiterated that if we truly LOVE this is seen by:
1.Our willingness to be sacrificial towards others.
2. Our resolve to share what we have with those among us who do not have.
3. That true Love is in the Acts of Love shown to others not in the mere saying I love you.
We are called to love and to love we must respond irrespective of how we feel. Love is Respectful and considerate of others. Today walk in Love and show it by what you do and say. Look for opportunities to BE THE LOVE OF GOD SEEN AND TOUCHED BY SOMEONE.
Shalom.
