Loving yourself is a central teaching of the Bible. Self-Love or healthy Self Image and Value is not Selfishness.
It is rather ascribing worth to yourself as God has and being mindful of your own uniqueness.
However, as we have noticed, Loving ❤️ yourself has to be extended to others for we are all one body in Christ.
So, true self love ❤️ is Loving others as yourself meaning treating them in every respect the way you treat yourself especially if you treat yourself in a good and honorable manner.
Therefore, 1 Cor 13 vs. 1 – 7 emphasizes the need to see Love ❤️ as a Tree 🌳 with branches and having a root. The root or origin of Love ❤️ is God.
One of the character branches of Love is of Selflessness. Being truly altruistic in our actions of love.
” For Love does not seek for its own but it seeks for the good of all”.
Think about it for a minute, if the world 🌎 or the entire Christian ✝️ community truly seeks the good of all others, where will we be today?
Think about how many wars and evil would have been prevented.
Think of how many family issues would have been resolved.
Think of how much we will accomplish together ❤️.
So, if we say, ” we love Him and hate our brother or sister, the truth is not in us”.
To love ❤️ Selflessly, the following must become a natural way of your life and thinking:
- Am in indebted to others with and by the debt of Love ❤️. I owe you true love as a Demonstration of the Love ❤️ of God within me.
- When I love ❤️ you truly, am helping myself and creating an environment of health, healing and well-being for both of us.
- Selflessness in love is not weaknesses rather strength ❤️.
- Loving Selflessly is one of God’s nature and if I am a child of God, then I must exhibit that nature.
- True love ❤️ acts and thinks of the best ways to do good and right by people.
- Those who love Selflessly are people of great impact; this has been proven historically and I am called to make an impact in a positive way.
Remember, that the capacity of love exists within you, and you can’t but allow it to grow ✨️.
Resolve to be an amazing Helper 👏 to someone else this year.
