The call of Christ to a higher life of Grace is such that we are challenged to think differently, perceive differently, and act differently. Here Christ gave a contrast between the letters of the Law and the Higher Life of Grace to which we are called to live.
Love your enemies, pray for those who persecute you. This is the life to which Christ called us and it can be done because He Christ has shown us how to and the Holy Spirit is within us to enable and teach us.
