“She was admired by everyone who saw her.”
ESTHER 2:15 – 20.
We live in a world 🌎 where the idea of being humble is often construed to be ” weakness “. And so, many people dislike the idea of being humble rather they desire to present a front of strength.
But, such is not the story of Esther, her story speaks of Humility and strength that is found in being humble.
ESTHER STORY.
A young orphan leaves the care and protection of her adoptive father and enters the king’s palace.
Her life is turned upside down as she begins a year’s regimen of preparing herself to win the king’s favor.
Palace servants and staff instruct her in the most intimate details of personal hygiene and beautification.
This scenario could easily cause a young woman to lose her emotional and psychological footing. Instead, Esther remained true to herself and earned the attention and favor of those around her.
Yes, God went before her preparing the way, but Esther also showed a depth of wisdom that impressed the king.
When she had completed the year of preparation among the palace harem, she wisely heeded the counsel of Hegai, the head eunuch, about how to best approach the king.
Xerxes named Esther queen of the empire, but she still humbly followed the influence and directives of her cousin Mordecai, even when it could have led to certain death. Esther’s reverence and affection for Mordecai indicate a gracious and humble spirit.
LESSONS.
In the most trying of situations, humility and listening to the wise counsel of others ultimately sets one up for success.
Even if the circumstances are too murky to distinguish wise counselors from foolish ones, James 1:5 promises that God will give us wisdom. All we need to do is ask.
Those who will outlast time and leave a legacy must develop and maintain the spirit of Humility which is seen in their willingness to act in Wisdom and to cherish wise counsel.
Being promoted to a higher office requires the expertise of Wisdom, if you are going to succeed. When Wisdom is lacking, decisions are made in foolishness.

Father, help me by the Holy Spirit to stay humble and to love wisdom. Give me a learning heart ❤️ and a willing mind.
