1 Corinthians 10:13 (KJV)
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Our perspective, perception, and mindset are three critical elements of life that impact and determines the outcome of everything we go through in life.
Challenges are a fundamental part of life’s journey; however, it is not what you are confronted with that really determines the outcome, it is how you perceive and respond to it that matters. So often, the weight of what we crash under is what another person is riding on its wings to higher heights. The difference is the mindset and approach. There is nothing really new under the sun.
We are all creatures of sameness; we are no different as many may want you to believe. One thing indeed that is common and certainly true admits all we go through is that God will make a way or rather God has made a way out. So, the challenge is whose perspective are you adopting? Whose mindset are you adopting? What perception are you forming about your temptation or problems?
You see, when we come to the place where we make uncommon our common challenges, we get to overcome them quickly. Am I saying that you are not built differently? No, but what I am saying is “someone has been there before you”. So, adopt the perspective I am going to make it. I am coming out. I am capable by God’s grace. So how does God make a way of escape?
Now let be real, this is not like escaping from Entebbe, you know the movie ” Escape from Entebbe “. God does not whisk you out. No, God takes you through the process and His presence abides with you as you go through because every temptation has a purpose and learning that you need to glean out of it. It has a character that it needs to form in you.
So that’s where many miss it. They are looking for Captain America “God” who is coming to whisk them out and to their disappointment, He doesn’t, and they become angry and overwhelmed and discouraged, complaining and murmuring becomes the order of the day as against learning and developing through the process. Even if it lasted a minute, an hour, a day or months and years, there is something to learn from every temptation.
So, God makes a way or has made a way. It is your responsibility to find it. Don’t stay there saying God is going to make a way, rather ask God to show me the way you have made.
To find the way, learn to:
- Study the Bible and accept its teachings on every life subject.
- Be open to the Holy Spirit and accept His counsel and guidance.
- Be open to the experiences of others who have been where you are and learn from their mistakes and victories.
- Be a praying person, not a complaining person.
- Stay engaged in the process of learning and development.
- Take one step at a time and be okay with the process.
- Stay positive and see that each day brings something new.
You are called to be fruitful and fruitful you are. For all things work together for your good.
Shalom,
Apostle Morgan
