Wisdom for Godly Living

Proverbs 13:20 (KJV)

He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.

The Bible presents to us practically every answer we need in handling life circumstances and issues. The power of companionship or friendship can’t be denied. Companions and friendships influence our lives in ways that we cannot deny. So we are encouraged to understand how the choice we make per companionship or friendship ultimately affects our lives. Certain factors may contribute to the decision-making process of friendship and companionship, such as how we view our lives. The value we attach to who we are.

People are drawn to things or people whom they either consider to have something they are lacking or those who will validate their perceived inadequacy in a compromising manner. So the first question to ask then is why I am in his or her company am? What is or has drawn me to this person? What do I stand to gain by my friendship with this person? What are the positives or negatives of this friendship? The Bible says if we keep company with a fool, we will become foolish. Notice it will become, meaning that the power of companionship is its ability to influence and change the trajectory of one’s life. So also, if we walk with the wise, we will become wise. So the choice of who we become mainly is left to us.

We as Christians are presented with the truth, but individual choices determine the outcome of our lives. Learn and consciously make the right decision that reflects your values and pursuits in life. The wisest person to walk with is Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. The wisest decision to make is to obey the Word of God. If you keep company with Christ, listen to the Holy Spirit and obey the Word of God, foolishness will never have the rule over your life.

You are blessed and highly favored.

Shalom,

Apostle Morgan.
